Yoga Days and Mornings
At Shanti Path Yoga Centre yoga days and yoga mornings are held throughout the year on a variety of topics. Some of the shorter workshops include the following topics:
Cleansing Days: These are generally held twice a year in Spring and in Autumn and run from 9am - 3pm. There are 2 kinds: Laghoo Shankhaprakshalana involves drinking 6 glasses of warm salted water to cleanse the sigmoid descending colon and rectum. It is particularly good for people who suffer from constipation. It is followed by stomach and nasal cleansing techniques and a period of rest. A special meal is provided although no food restrictions are needed afterwards. The full Shankhaprakshalana Intestinal Cleanse focuses on cleansing the whole digestive tract. It involves drinking salt water, combined with stretches, which is then eliminated through the bowel. Once the cleanse is finished you rest for 45 minutes and then eat a specially prepared meal. A specific diet is followed for 10 days afterwards. More information on request.
Sunrise Sessions: sessions are early morning, 3-hour workshops on varying topics. Workshops run from 8am - 11 am, followed by breakfast.
Other Yoga Days: at Shanti Path start at 10am and finish at 4.30pm. Topics include deep relaxation and recuperation, awakening prana and the chakras, and yoga and walking days.
Residential Courses
At Shanti Path we run weekends and 5 day courses during the year. The themes vary from accessing prana to working with the mind to contemplation & silence. We also run walking and yoga weekends, which prove very popular given the natural beauty of the Dingle peninsula.
Weekend courses start with registration on the Friday evening at 5.30pm, soup at 6pm and the programme at 8pm. Saturday begins with an early morning yoga class followed by breakfast. There follows a full programme including free time in the afternoon for walking, rest, writing etc.
Sunday begins with an early morning class and the programme finishes with lunch. Food is vegetarian, and mostly organic. Let us know in advance if you have a food intolerance.
Accommodation is in neighbouring houses. There are 5 single rooms available for an extra fee, otherwise there are 2 to a room.
As there will be time spent outdoors, please bring raingear, wellies and warm clothing. You may also need a torch if you attend a course in the winter.
Please bring your own towels, and swimwear if you want to take the plunge!
